I didn’t want to report on the books I was reading, so I made up books for my reports, coming up with a title, an author, a theme, and the major characters.
— Judy Blume, recalling her elementary school days
Reminds me of my high school days. A night before the English exam, I would read Khalil Gibran to shift into writing mode. In my essays and analysis of poems, I would then make up quotes using rich metaphors and attribute them to random people. The hardest part was always coming up with names. As tempting as it always is to use Mary Jane, Chuck Norris or Madame Bovary, a safer choice is Kevin Witt.

Hush. Let silence engulf you. Not like wildfires in warm summer days. No. Let it enfold you like a blanket on a cold winter night. Let it calm your agitating heart like a benign Gaelic melody. Let it soak up all your sorrow. Like a black hole in the galaxy.
Close your eyes. You’ll see a lot better. Feel yourself immix with the zephyr. Let the wet grass tickle your feet. Lean against the tree. Can you feel the bond? Between yourself and everything else you perceive? You contain in yourself the whole universe. Next time someone upsets you, just barf a Quasar on ‘m.
